Statement takes the Royal out of Royalty

My Orchestra bandmate Eric Troyer sent me the below link.  Those of you who aren't recording artists may find it surprising or even somewhat shocking. But most musicians who've rubbed up against a major label will understand, nod their heads, sigh and maybe even laugh. Same old story: don't expect honest accounting from a major record label, and don't expect to get paid. In other words, "Hey, you're just a musician. You wouldn't understand how the business works."  Read on.  Comments welcome!

I certainly am not familiar with the Music Biz, this is another reason I would never want to be in any show biz. Between outright phony people and smiling/crooked companies, I'd be crazy. That's why I gravitate toward the musicians who obviously perform because they love it. Of course they have to pay bills too, and would like to be paid well and deserve so, but you can tell when a person is doing what he loves. Second, I actually LIKE paying for my downloads. It may not add up to much but I never understood someone calling himself a fan of a band while simultaneously stealing songs from them illegally.
